She is a contributing writer at Solitary Watch and Truthout, and has written for The Atlantic, Slate, Rolling Stone, The Village Voice, The Appeal, The Nation, Vice, In These Times, and other publications. Katie Rose was a 2023 Ira A. Lipman Fellow, a 2020 Alicia Patterson Foundation Fellow, and a 2017 Soros Justice Media Fellow. She previously worked for the Prison Policy Initiative, BillMoyers.com, and Mother Jones.
